Course Description:
Aims
The module aims to develop student skills to research real-life workplace problems. Students will learn the whole research process through participating in workshops and conducting online exercises. Students will work on a real research problem that will develop their skills in designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research projects. In addition, the module aims to prepare students for the following module – Business Research in People Management and Practice Part Two – Professional Inquiry, by enabling them to independently conduct a research project utilising quantitative and qualitative.
Learning Outcomes
- Critically analyse research method philosophical approaches and data collection methods
- Work on a real research problem, define a research question based on the problems, and design a research plan to examine the problem
- Prepare an individual, appropriately presented and coherent research proposal (which will require the production of accurate research objectives, a research strategy and appropriate methodology)
