About Liverpool John Moores University
Liverpool John Moores University traces its origins back to the Industrial Revolution and the Mechanics Institute, founded by people who recognised the transformative effects of education on individuals, communities and society. This was followed by the establishment of the Liverpool Institute and School of Art and the Liverpool Nautical College. These organisations together laid the foundations for Liverpool John Moores University, a modern civic university that continues to demonstrate the pioneering zeal of its founders and continues to subscribe to the notion that 'knowledge is power'.
Today, the University continues to provide higher education opportunities for all with a vibrant community of over 23,000 students from over 100 countries. Liverpool John Moores University is one of the largest, most dynamic and forward-thinking universities in the UK.
