Course Description:

Aims

To develop an independent academically rigourous research project using secondary research methods, with a methodology and full literature review, culminating in a critical analytical discussion drawing out further areas for exploration, potential new theoretical contributions to their chosen subject, and recommendations for future academic research in their chosen area.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the module the student should be able to:

1 produce a rigourous piece of primary research in a human resource related area.

2 decide an appropriate methodology to test hypotheses

3 critically compare theory drawn from academic contribution in the literature review and student's own research.

4 develop a discussion in which it is expected that students draw out the contradictions, nuances and tensions between theory and practice; culminating in developing new theoretical contributions and speculating on areas for future research.
