Aims
Critically review the inter-relationship between education, society and culture across a variety of educational contexts
Learning Outcomes
After completing the module the student should be able to:
1 Critically analyse the influence of culture, multiculturalism and multilingualism in a local context
2 Critically appraise the issues and debates surrounding social processes and societal factors that influence participation in education
3 Evaluate how social and cultural factors influence individuals' life-long learning and
future life chances
